Forget the Femme Fatale in total black look, white is taking over! Here are a few rules to wear and master the immaculate look with no risk of fashion faux pas. Will white as a total look replace the eternal and chic black? That is a question we could actually legitimately as ourselves at the sight of a whole lot of street styles seen outside of major fashion shows. If all black was, for a very long time, acclaimed by the trendiest fashionistas, it is now the crisp fresh white that is catching their attention.
Modern, elegant and minimalist, white is saddly difficult to keep clean, which actually gives it a precious and refined side that has no equal. It’s kind of a refreshing sight in a sea of mid-season oversize colour block coats, black trenches and khaki military jackets, and a still hesistant weather.
How do fashionistas wear the all white look?
Its angelic softness has definitely seduced some fashionistas, who wear it as a long dress with a bohemian feel, for a very feminie look. An airy allure that they emphasise by wearing flat shoes, barely noticeable under an immaculate fabric. Others break this romantic softness with heeled pumps or trainers to definitely get rid of the peaches n’ cream look.
If the loose, flowy dress is a favorite, the mini isn’t disappearing either. Paired with a pair of ankle boots or Doc Martens, it lengthens the silhouette and gives a more modern look. The pantsuit, a bit harder to master (but so worth it), is tied at the waist, while the actual suit (ie trousers plus blazer) is worn with heeled pumps.
Brought back up to date, white has a go at tone on tone combinations by alternating ivory white, off white or ecru. That daring move is not seen too much on fashionistas (but by all means give it a try), but they will not hesitate instead to play with materials, textures and fits to add volume and interest to their silhouette.
If you are still hesitating, you can break the all white rule and add black or colored accessories to complete the look! For example try a white summer dress with a colour belt and assorted bag, or a white shirt, white shoes, white clutch with your favourite pair of jeans.
